There’s a rising tide of anger, fear and blame moving through the world.
Sexism, racism, cruelty.. each headline feels like proof that humanity has lost its way. In spiritual circles, the reaction often sounds like, “It must be the planets,” or “God is punishing us again.”
But the heavens are not executioners. They are mirrors.
The Mirror, Not the Master
Evolutionary astrology teaches that the sky describes the state of consciousness; it doesn’t dictate it. Transits reveal where growth is asking to happen but the choice remains ours. When we treat planets as the cause of our suffering, we hand away the very power that could transform it.
This is the difference between fatalism and participation. Blame looks upwards; responsibility looks inwards.
The Hermetic Foundation of Accountability
1. Mentalism – The All is Mind.
Reality begins in thought. When we cultivate fear and outrage, the world shows us more of the same. When we think with clarity and goodwill, life reorganises around that vibration.
Responsibility begins in what we choose to think.
2. Correspondence – As Above, So Below.
The heavens mirror our collective inner state. If chaos reigns below, it is only the echo of the mind above us; our own consciousness seeking alignment.
Astrology doesn’t excuse behaviour; it reveals the pattern we are meant to heal.
3. Vibration – Everything Moves.
Each thought and emotion sends a wave into the field. Fear spreads because it vibrates quickly, calm spreads because it endures.
We become responsible the moment we choose the frequency we broadcast.
4. Polarity – Everything Has Its Pair of Opposites.
Love and hate, light and shadow, they are two ends of one current. To evolve is to find the midpoint where awareness holds both without collapsing into either.
Condemning the darkness sustains it; but integrating, it dissolves it.
5. Rhythm – Everything Rises and Falls.
History moves in tides. Compassion wanes, then surges again. The wise response is steadiness: to remember that decline is temporary and to keep acting from principle even in low tide.
We cannot stop the swing but we can stay conscious while it moves.
6. Cause and Effect – Nothing Happens by Chance.
Every event has a lineage of choices behind it. Recognising this isn’t self-blame, it’s empowerment. We can trace outcomes back to attitudes and start the correction at the root.
When we accept cause, we recover the power to shape effect.
7. Gender – All Things Contain Masculine and Feminine Principles.
The global rise in domination and passivity mirrors our inner imbalance. Healing doesn’t mean choosing one over the other but letting the assertive and the receptive dance together.
True strength is balanced; true compassion is active.
The Ego’s Favourite Disguise
In times of collective pressure, the ego loves to pose as the victim.
It says, “I’m powerless; the world, the stars are against me.”
This story feels safe because it demands nothing new from us. Yet it’s precisely this avoidance that perpetuates suffering.
The moment we stop identifying as the victim of the cosmos, we begin to co-create with it. The Hermetic mind doesn’t banish the ego; it teaches it that it was never separate from the whole. Responsibility is not blame; it is remembering our creative role in the universal mind.
Choosing Participation Over Projection
Taking responsibility is the most radical act in an age of blame.
It means refusing to weaponise astrology, religion or politics as excuses for cruelty. It means asking, “What frequency am I adding to the world right now?”
The planets continue their dance but we are the dancers interpreting the rhythm.
Closing Reflection and Intention
“I walk with the heavens, not beneath them.
The stars illuminate my path but my choices light the way.
I release the ego’s need to be the victim and step into my power as a conscious participant in creation.”
